INNOVATORS OF COLOUR

WHAT WE DO

SAGES is a start up pioneering phytochemical extractions and biochemical dyeing processes for sustainable colouration

WHY WE DO IT

Synthetic dyes are responsible for 20% of global wastewater

Derived from carbon intensive petroleum and coal tar, these dyes rely on non-biodegradable chemicals that are toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic, and highly polluting. Their chemical dye effluent causes contamination, kills marine life, damages soil, and contaminates the food chain and drinking supply.

With new regulations to eliminate hazardous chemicals imminent, rapidly scalable solutions are desperately needed.

HOW WE DO IT

SAGES' breakthrough
bio-chemical processes eliminate the need for synthetic dyes entirely

Our dyes are a like-for-like replacement for synthetic dyes and are available in a wide range of commercial colours spanning pinks, blues, greens, yellows and purples; all derived from non-edible food waste.

Developed for ease of implementation, they have been successfully integrated into a range of industrial applications from fashion and textiles to papers and inks and are designed for cost-effective manufacture at industrial scales.
